Sonnet, Malviya enter CL Gupta T20 semis

Fine bowling performances by Dilraj Atwal 3 for 23, former India speedster Ashish Nehra 2 for 18 and Suhail Sharma 2 for 21 and good knock of 40 runs by Onil Wilson helped Sonnet club beat Tedco International by 4 runs to enter the semi final of the 7th CL Gupta memorial Prem Lata trophy T20 cricket tournament.


Dilraj Atwal awarded Puma man of the match for his outstanding bowling performance.

Brief scores: Sonnet Club: 128 for 6 in 20 overs: Onil Wilson 40, Eklavya Diwedi 30 n.o., Puneet Mehra 3 for 21.

Tedco International: 124 for 9 in 20 overs: Anuj Sharma 35, Rahul Dagar 36, Dilraj Atwal 3 for 24, Ashish Nehra 2 for 18, Suhail Sharma 2 for 21.

Malviya Club also made their way to semis after defeating Sonnet Club earlier in the tournament. Fine all-round display by Mannu Kapoor 3 for 12 and a quick-fire 30 runs in just 13 balls, that included four sixes, ably supported with an unbeaten half-century by Raman Sachdeva (58) enabled Malviya club to beat Sonnet club by 5 wickets to secure the semi-final berth of the 7th CL Gupta memorial T20 cricket tournament.

Brief scores: Sonnet Club: 180 for 6 in 20 Overs: Mayank Sidana 90, 11x4, 3x6, Rahul Diwan 62, 8x4, 1x6, Mannu Kapoor 3 for 12.

Malviya Club: 181 for 5 in 19.3 overs: Raman Sachdeva 58 n.o, Praveen Thapar 39 n.o., Mannu Kapoor 30.

In another last week league match Malviya defeated Harry Academy by 8 wickets after riding on fine unbeaten 48 by Rajasthan Ranji player Robin Bisht and a good 45-run knock by Dushyant Sharma. Robin Bisht later named Puma man of the match for his useful knock.

Brief Scores: Harry cricket academy: 136 for 5 in 20 overs: Naveen Sharma 69, Sunny Chaudhary 33, Raman Sachdeva 3 for 20.

Malviya club: 139 for 2 in 15.1 overs: Robin Bisht not out 48, Dushyant Sharma 45, Satinder Yadav 35, Samarth Singh 2 for 28.

Aakash ton aids FAPS to lift RG Williams cricket title

Fine all-round display by Aakash Sudan 46 and 3 for 28 and good half-century knock by Rachit Jain 56 followed with some deadly bowling by Mohit Pandey 4 for 20 enabled Frank Anthony Public school Lajpat Nagar to beat Universal Club by 50 runs in the finals to lift the title of the 7th RG Williams memorial cricket tournament played at the Frank Anthony ground.

The Chief Guest Stephen D’costa principal of Frank Anthony Public School presented the prizes to the players of the winners and runners up teams. Aakash Sudan, Sarang Rawat and Mohit Pandey were declared as the best player, best batsman and the best bowler respectively of the Tournament.

Brief Scores: FAPS: 259 for 9 in 40 overs: Rachit Jain 30, Aakash Sudan 46, Sarang Rawat 3 for 50.

Universal Club: 209 all out in 39.5 overs: Sarang Rawat 56, Aakash Sudan 3 for 38, Mohit Pandey 4 for 20.

PBL posts win in Star cricket

Fine half-centuries knock by Kuldeep Bhardwaj 61 runs in 30 balls that included eight fours and two sixes and Dhanpal Negi 56 helped PBL beat Airtel by a massive margin of 143 runs in the league match of the Star Inter office Corporate cricket tournament played at the Saket sports complex ground. Kuldeep Bhardwaj named man of the match.

Brief scores: PBL: 217 for 6 in 20 overs: Kuldeep Bhardwaj 61, Dhanpal Negi 56, Subodh Badola 42, Sandeep Kumar 3 for 46.

Airtel: 74 in 16.4 overs: Manan Dogra 33, Tejinder Maan 3 for 07, Vivek Sharma 3 for 22, Rajneesh Gautam 2 for 02
