Over 2,000 students participate in Technozion

Hyderabad, Oct 17 (IANS) Over 2,000 young engineering students from 200 colleges across the country are participating in Technozion, a three-day engineering and science festival that began Friday at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh.

 

The participants are fighting for a spot in robotics, aerosmith (glider contest) and wreckage (miniature car race) categories.

 

 

The event features a range of challenges and competition from robotics to miniature car racing to glider making. It also includes all-night coding, junkyard wars, hacking, contraptions, quizzes, circuit designing, fox hunt, modeling contests and others.

 

 

The paper presentation competition invites entries in all walks of engineering, and provides a platform for all aspiring engineers to bring their revolutionary and path-breaking ideas to the forefront, said a statement by NIT, Warangal, which is ranked among the top 10 technology institutes in the country.

 

 

Sujana Steels and Bartronics, Contact Singapore, Microsoft, Novell, Overdrive, Freescale Semiconductors, Wipro and Vinnoite.com are sponsoring this year's event.

 

 

Professor Tony Leggett, 2003 Nobel Prize winner 2003 for Physics, interacted with the participants through video conference. Famed car designer Dilip Chhabaria, Infosys CEO & MD S. Gopalakrishnan, John Louis and Master Bernett Orlando, father son memory champion, will also interact with the students.
