New Delhi, Oct 17 (IANS) The Supreme Court Friday issued notice to the Tamil Nadu government on a plea by P.R. Ravichandran, convicted for the May 1991 assassination of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, who has sought his release from jail after serving a 14-year term.
In his plea to the bench of chief justice K.G. Balakrishnan, Ravichandran contended that the Tamil Nadu government was not taking a decision on his release despite the completion of his life sentence.
