Hassan Sardar to be Pak hockey selection body chief

Lahore, Oct.16 (ANI): Former Olympian Hassan Sardar will take over as the new chairman of the selection committee that chooses the senior team.

 

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President, Qasim Zia, is likely to announce his name formally today.

 

Sardar is ranked among the best center forwards in history of Pakistan's hockey. He also owns the world record of scoring the highest number of goals (11) in one match.

 

He played for Pakistan from 1980 to the early 90s. He scored 180 goals for his country in various tournaments. Sardar played a big role in the victories of World Cup 1982 and Olympics 19984 in Los Angeles. (ANI)
