NHRC denies getting report from Delhi Police on Batla House encounter

New Delhi, Oct.16 (ANI): The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has denied reports published in a section of media that it has received a report from the Delhi Police Commissioner on the Batla House encounter in Jamia Nagar in New Delhi on September 19.

 

The NHRC will take a view on the issue only after a report on encounter is received by the Delhi Police.

 

The Commission had issued a notice to the Delhi Police Commissioner on 24.09.08 on the complaint of an NGO, Real Cause.

 

The complainant had submitted that a team of special cell of Delhi Police brought two dead bodies after an hour long alleged encounter at L-18, Batla House, Okhla, New Delhi on 19/09/2008. (ANI)
