Death of Hindi speaking labourers in Manipur condemned

India in its contemporary phase is keeping pace with the multidimensional growth but suddenly some parts of India have grown hostile to one another.


Recently a new trend of conflict over linguistic differences has emerged which was till now caste and religion. Yes! After Assam and Maharashtra this is the turn of Manipur where innocent labourers of Hindi speaking belts are shot dead by the extremists group, moreover the notices left by the assailants that these people should returned to their native place was not only gruesome but a mockery on our constitution.

 


There was uproar in the Lok Sabha on the killings in Manipur and Home Minister in its statement criticised the grisly act of militants.


He said, “I strongly condemn the recent killing of innocent persons by extremists in Manipur. I convey my condolences to the kin of the deceased and pray for speedy recovery of the injured.”


“These are acts of cowardice, perpetrated with the intention to disturb social harmony and create panic among people. The Ministry of Home Affairs is in touch with the Manipur Government which has been asked to take all steps to nab the culprits, provide security to vulnerable sections and avoid recurrence of such incidents,” he added stressing that it is our fundamental rights to live in any part of the country.


But Congress was slammed for its apathy and Lok Sabha members came harshly on the government for being the mute spectator of the ghastly act. It was targeted as most of the incident took place in Congress ruled states.


Some members questioned the attitude of government which is not taking any step despite giving assurance while some member also demanded Home Minister’s resignation.


Members of CPI (M) condemned the killings and warned that such incident will effect the development of northeast as well as it will disturb the social harmony among people of diverse group.


Members also fears backlash against northeast people and asked that attempt should be made to secure them from such clashes.


The members demanded that centre and state should come together to end this divisive tendencies in various states.
