Tedco beat Young friends to enter CL Gupta T20 quarters

Fine unbeaten half-century by Puneet Mehra (57) and good all-round display by Jaideep Chaudhary (4 for 29 and 30) helped Tedco International beat Young Friends club by 7 wickets to enter the quarter-finals of the 7th CL Gupta memorial Prem Lata trophy cricket tournament played at the Stephens college ground here on Tuesday.

 

Puneet Mehra named Puma man of the match.


Brief Scores: Young Friends club: 171 for 7 in 20 overs: Rohit Chaudhary 89, Virender Sharma 34, Naved Hussain not out 37, Jaideep Chaudhary 4 for 29.


Tedco International: 174 for 3 in 17.3 overs: Puneet Mehra not out 57, Praveen Thakur 34, Jaideep Chaudhary 30, Babloo Kumar 3 for 36.


Indian Airlines posts easy win


Fine batting by Sachin Rana (47) and Sonu Sharma's four-wicket haul helped Indian Airlines to score a comfortable 32-run victory over BSNL in the DDCA Premier League.


Brief Scores: Indian Airlines 199 for 9 in 40 overs (Sachin Rana 47, NS Negi 2/45) beat BSNL 167 for 9 in 40 overs (Anshul Lamba 47, Sonu Sharma 4/14, Subhash Chaudhary 3/28).


Bhuvesh Rohit shine in ESPN victory


A perfect century knock by Bhuvesh together with fine all-round performance by Rohit Chopra (78 and 2/24) guided ESPN to beat Times of India by 142 runs to enter into the quarter-finals of the DSCL Twenty20 media cricket tournament being played at the Jamia University ground.


Brief scores: ESPN 211 for 4 (Bhuvesh 100, Rohit Chopra 78) beat Times of India 69 all out (Vinayak 19, Rohit Chopra 2/24)


Inter-school cycling meet on March 30

Sunny Sidhu drives home Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm rally


Seasoned car racer Sunny Sidhu gave good account of himself as he emerged as the champion of the sixth edition of the Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm rally that finished in Jaipur on Tuesday.


Sidhu clocked 4:41:14 penalties in the pro car category driving his Maruti Gypsy. Suresh Rana (4:52.25) and Capt. Sameer Pande (4:54.35) followed him on second and third position.


Mathew Paul Barrett with 6:09:54 penalties was adjudged the winner in the pro bike category while Umesh Raheja became winner in the NAV 4WD category.
