Om Pal's blitzkrieg sets ablaze CL Gupta T20 tourney

A belligerent 65-ball 157 knock by Haryana under-22 cricketer Om pal Singh set ablaze the CL Gupta memorial T20 cricket tournament, as after this strokeful eye-catching knock he not only stamped his authority but also marked his presence as the rising star of this latest shorter version of the game.


The cracking sound of his wide ranging shots that included 11 fours and dozen sixes must have been resonated at the doors of IPL’s franchise owners, as he can be the latest pick for their team. As expected Om Pal was later named Puma man of the match.

The 19-year old Om Pal was well supported by Mukul Dagar 49 and equally complemented by some fine bowling by Ankit Rawat who picked up 4 wickets for just for 10 runs guided their side KN Colts club to beat DDA by a massive margin of 135 runs in the league match of the CL Gupta memorial Prem Lata trophy cricket tournament at Stephens college ground.

Shera Pandit cricket tournament from April 2

Top 16 teams of the capital including Indian Airlines, ONGC, FCI, DDCA Colts, Sonnet, LB Shastri, Gush club, Subhania, Tedco International, RPCA, West Delhi, KN Colts and PDCA Ajmal Khan Cricket club will be participating in the 15th edition of the Shera Pandit memorial cricket tournament, starting from April 2 at the Mohan Meakin ground.

Yogesh Kukreti scalps five

Deadly bowling by Yogesh Kukreti, who took five wickets for five runs, helped his team Business Standard beat Sahara Group by 9 wickets to enter the quarter-finals of the 1st DSCL Twenty20 Media Cricket tournament played at the Jamia ground.

Kulwant Rawat shines in GDN victory

Kulwant Singh Rawat's unbeaten knock of 74 helped Global Development Network (GDN) post an eight-wicket victory over Foreign Correspondents' Club (FCC) at the Commonwealth High Commission cricket tournament.

Brief scores: FCC: 164/8 in 25 overs (Oniel Wilson 62) lost to GDN: 167/2 in 23.3 overs (Kulwant Singh Rawat 74 n.o, Anand Mishra 41).

Mayank, Sharad excel for Mohan Meakin

A fine unbeaten century by Mayank Sharma (109), and impressive bowling by Sharad Lamba (4/29) enabled Mohan Meakin to beat Kishan Ganj Gymkhana (KGG) by five wickets in the DDCA super elite group.

Brief scores: KGG: 185/8 (Ajay 50, S Lamba 4/29, R Madan 3/20) lost to Mohan Meakin: 187/5 in 34 overs (Mayank Sharma 109 n.o).
