Youth gets life term for killing friend
New Delhi, Oct 14 (IANS) A city court awarded life term to a youth who killed his friend four years ago fearing he would inform police about his stealing a motorcycle.
Additional Sessions Judge A.K. Arya also imposed a fine of Rs.2,000 on Rajesh, 26.
'The prosecution has been able to prove charges against the accused with an evidence of conclusive nature. The evidence is totally inconsistent with the innocence of the accused and is only pointing towards his guilt.
'The prosecution has proved the accused had committed the murder of Deepak by inflicting injuries to him with a knife on May 31, 2004 beyond any reasonable doubt,' the court said.
Rajesh was arrested June 1, 2004 following a complaint lodged with the police against him alleging he had stabbed Deepak to death.
The victim had allegedly threatened the accused to expose him for lifting a Yamaha motorcycle from their colony in Narela in northwest Delhi.
