Young friends beat Gush CC in CL Gupta T20 tourney

A dazzling 56-ball hundred by Deepak Sharma that included 14 boundaries and two massive hits followed with some deadly bowling by Ankit maini (5 for 27) and Bablu Kumar (3 for 23) guided Young friends club to beat Gush club by 18 runs in the league match of the 7th CL Gupta memorial T20 cricket tournament playing for Prem Lata Trophy at Stephens college ground here on Sunday.

Deepak Sharma was awarded Puma man of the match for his scintillating knock.

Brief scores: Young friends: 180 for 9 in 20 overs: Deepak Sharma 100, Jayant Yadav 33, Shoaib Prasad 4 for 17.

Gush CC: 162 all out in 19.1 overs: Manav Sharma 63, Amitoze Singh 47, Ankit Maini 5 for 27, Bablu Kumar 3 for 23.

Earlier on Saturday, Tedco International beat Gush club by 4 wickets riding on some fine bowling by Kuldeep Diwan 3 for 20 and all-round display by Sanjay Gill 3 for 24 and 33 runs. Some good knocks by Harish Kumar not out 39 and Jaideep Chaudhary 30 also aided Tedco to post win in the league match. Kuldeep Diwan named Puma man of the match.

Brief scores: Gush CC: 136 for 8 in 20 overs: Ankur Julka 50 Gurkirat Singh 33, Kuldeep Diwan 3 for 20, Sanjay Gill 3 for 24, Abid Khan 2 for 18.

Tedco International: 140 for 6 in 19.1 overs: Harish Kumar not out 39, Sanjay gill 33, Jaideep Chaudhary 30, Rajwinder Singh 3 for 16.

DSA Institutional League for CM Cup from March 23

The DSA institutional football league for the Chief Minister’s Cup will commence at the capital’s Ambedkar Stadium from March 23.

Defending champion, Food Corporation of India (FCI) North Zone, runner-up Northern Railways, Zakir Hussain College, Delhi Audit, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Employees State Insurance Corporation of India, Central Secretariat, Reserve Bank of India, Delhi Administration and Delhi Development Authority will be the prominent teams that will be seen in action.

The tournament will feature 10 teams of the senior division and 11 teams of the ‘A’ division. The teams will be divided into groups and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super league.

The two bottom teams of the senior division will be relegated to the ‘A’ division while the top two teams of the ‘A’ division will be promoted to the senior division.

Rathore’s four goals in Titans triumph

Ravi Rathore scored four goals as Titans edged past Knights 5-4 to claim the Business and Economy Royal Polo Cup played at the Jaipur Polo ground. The event also marked the conclusion of the Delhi Spring Polo season here on Sunday.

S.S. Kashyap slotted the deciding winner for the Titans while Vishal Chauhan (2), Tony Singh and Navjit Sandhu scored for the losers. Prof. Arindam Chaudhuri, Editor in Chief of Planman Media, gave away the prizes to the winners and runner-up teams.
