Bachchan's condition stable: Doctors

Mumbai, Mon, 13 Oct 2008 NI Wire

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan is said to be in stable condition after spending two days in Lilavati hospital following a complain of stomach pain.

The actor was admitted to the hospital with abdominal pain when he was celebrating his 66th birthday at his Juhu based Pratiksha Bunglow on Saturday (October 11).

As per sources from the hospital, all his test results are normal and he is recovering first. He would be released soon from the Lilavati Hospital, but the star won't be able to resume work for a long time, the sources added.

A host of Bollywood celebrities has visited him expressing their concern over the actor’s tight work schedule, and praying for his speedy recovery.

In November 2005, Amitabh was operated on at Leelavati Hospital after he developed intestinal problems.

Reportedly, about Rs. 1 billion is riding on the shoulders of the megastar, and in a sense his absence will further delay the release of those movies. However, doctors have already advised him for a long rest before moving again to the acting floor.
