Delhi shopkeeper set on fire after dispute over Rs.100

New Delhi, Oct 12 (IANS) Three people have been arrested here for allegedly setting a 35-year-old shopkeeper on fire after a scuffle over the payment of Rs.100, police said Sunday.

The victim, identified as Sushil Mohan Anand, runs a mobile phone shop near his house in Hari Nagar. The police said three men, Goldi, 26, Manish, 25, and his brother Satish, 31, went to Anand's shop to purchase a mobile recharge coupon of Rs.

But soon a scuffle broke out between Anand and the accused over payment. The accused roughed up Anand before leaving the place.

'They threatened him that he would soon face dire consequence. After some time they caught Anand when he was returning home and poured kerosene over him. They then set him on fire,' a police official said.

One of the onlookers informed the police. Anand was first taken to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital but was then moved to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. He was said to be recuperating with 60 percent burns.

The police said a case was registered at the Hari Nagar police station and all the three alleged assailants had been arrested.
