Little Master posts win in CL Gupta T20 inaugural match

Fine bowling display, picking up three wickets apiece, by Pradeep Parashar (3/16) and Mohd. Atiq (3/20) enabled Little Master club to beat Kailash Nagar Colts by 33 runs in the inaugural league match of the 7th CL Gupta memorial 20-20 cricket tournament played for the Prem Lata Trophy at the St. Stephens college ground here on Monday.

Pradeep Parashar was later named Puma Man of the Match for his fine bowling effort. Earlier in the morning, the annual prestigious tournament formally inaugurated by Gautam Kangi Lal, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India Delhi Range alongwith V.K. Gupta, Secretary SBISA,

On the occasion, Organising Secretary Sunil Chugh welcomed all the participating players and gave vote of thanks to all the dignitaries for their benign presence.

Brief scores: Little Master: 101 in 19.3 overs: Naveen Dahiya not out 30, Nikhil Khatree 28, Rohit Sood 3 for 15, Om Pal Singh 3 for 17.

KN Colts: 68 for 9 in 20 overs: Pradeep Mann 22, Arun Rawat not out 20, Pradeep Parashar 3 for 16, Mohd. Atiq 3 for 20, Rajeev Rathore 2 for 17.

All-India Railway cricket

Fine century knock by Shoaib Manager (115) and equally good 49 by Karnataka Ranji skipper Yere Goud enabled Rail Wheel Factory to register a 38-run win against Central Railway in the league match of the 53rd All-India Railway cricket championship currently underway at the Karnail Singh Stadium here on Monday.

In another match, South Central Railway convincingly defeated Railway Board by nine wickets after chasing the target of 185. R Manohar and Seshavalic cracked fine half- centuries for the SCR team.

Ganga International open school cricket tournament

Ganga International School, Hiran Kudna will be organising an open school cricket tournament from April 2. The champion of the tournament will get a cash prize of Rs 31,000 while Rs 21,000 will be rewarded to the runners-up.

Bhaskar shines for PNB

Bhaskar scored a fine 81 for Punjab National Bank as the Bank team overpowered York Club by 7 wickets in the Super Plate group of the DDCA league. In the Elite group match Delhi Administration beat Inborn Club by 17 runs.

Brief Scores: York Club 156 (Shahid 39, Akash Mittal 3/24, Varun Anand 3/36) lost to PNB 157/3 (Bhaskar 81) Delhi Admin. 179 (Ombir Thakuran 45; Karamvir Bhatti 3/32) beat Inborn 160 (Manu Kapoor 32, Kapil Kishor 3/31).

Puneet’s all-round display

Fine all-round display by Puneet (22 and 3/21) and a good 45 runs contributed by Mukul helped Network 18 beat Sahara by 51 runs to earn two points in the DSCL Twenty20 media cricket tourney.

Brief scores: Network 18 192/7 (Puneet 22, Mukul 45, Razeem 2/33) beat Sahara 141 (Bhim Singh 68, Razeem 20, Puneet 3/21).

Vidya Jain Academy in Mahender Shokeen semis

Deadly bowling by Sanjay Verma 5 for 37 and a fine half-century by Agnesh Surya (59) runs guided Vidya Jain cricket Academy to beat Minda Group by 38 runs to enter the semi-final of the 2nd Mahender Shokeen memorial cricket tournament played at the Ambedkar ground here. Sanjay Verma named man of the match.

Brief scores: VJCA: 237 for 9 in 40 overs Agnesh Surya 58, Kamal Bhardwaj 53, Arshad Masih 3 for 40, Amit Kumar 3 for 24, Lovly Tomar 2 for 60.

Minda Group: 199 in 39.2 overs: Sunny Arora 68, Lovly Tomar 55, Sanjay Verma 5 for 37, Arun singh 3 for 22.
