BMI organises seminar for Cancer Awareness
Burhani Medical Idara (BMI), a well-known Dawoodi Bohra community medical organisation, organised a Cancer Awareness Seminar to throw some light over common symptoms, types and diagnosis of fatal disease cancer at the Saifee Hospital here on Saturday.
Prominent doctors including Dr. K.M. Mohandas, the Academic Dean of the Tata Memorial Hospital delivered lectures stressing on the basic reasons of cancer occurrence.
On the occasion, Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin, Head of the Dawoodi Bohra community, mentioned in his message for the event that the medical science had progressed to tremendous heights and thus the cure of cancer and other diseases become possible.
He also pointed out that it is the Almighty that eventually provides the benevolence of wellness and health. A host of audiences including Dawoodi Bohra community professionals, entrepreneurs and intellectuals attended the seminar that was held at the auditorium of Saifee Hospital.
An interactive session of questions-answers was also held. Renowned psychologist, Dr. Huzaifa Bhinderwala also participated in the seminar by giving answers to some of disease related queries.
The Burhani Medical Idara, as a part of the 97th birthday celebrations of Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS), shall also organise similar gatherings like this in over 700 community centers across the world to support cancer awareness amongst the community members.
The Mumbai-based BMI is an international medical umbrella organisation that provides data and logistics support to medical institutes and services to Dawoodi Bohras all over the world.

Memorial Hospital from the Last 4 month but has not recovered fully. Each chemo treatment cost around Rs. 25000/- INR. As the patients hails from a middle class family, they are unable to bear the high treatment cost. We appeal to Mumineen brothers to support her by providing medical assistance.
