Police tighten security in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad, Oct 10 (IANS) In an attempt to thwart terror strikes, the police Friday ordered all malls, multiplex theatres, shopping centres and commercial establishments to appoint trained security guards and install metal detectors.
City Police Commissioner O.P. Mathur also ordered that CCTV cameras must be installed above the entrance door frames, in the basement and open parking areas.
The CCTV recordings of at least seven days should be available at any given time, Mathur said. The order takes effect from Friday and will be on till Dec 10.
The step is to check terror elements who may with local support have a free run in the city to execute further terror attacks, the police said.
