Four Indians in the frame of Forbes' richest men
US bi-weekly business magazine Forbes in its 2008 ranking of the world’s billionaires has placed four Indians in the top ten of rich-list. Lakshmi Mittal, Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani occupied fourth, fifth and sixth position respectively, while businessman K P Singh has come in the eighth spot.
But US investment Guru Warren Buffett with a net worth of US$62 billion left behind Microsoft chief Bill Gates and became the richest in the world.

Seating at the top position for 13 years as the world’s richest man, Bill Gates with US$58 billion slipped to the third place while Mexican telecommunication giant Carlos Slim Helu came at second with an estimated net worth of US$60 billion.
Forbes counts world’s largest steel maker Lakshmi Mital with a value of US$45 billion on the fourth, one step up from the last list. Earlier in November 2007 the Forbes Asia Magazine had ranked Mittal as India’s wealthiest person for the fourth year.
Mukesh Ambani – the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries with a valued wealth of US$43 billion is at No.5 and the second richest Indian after the steel tycoon Mittal. He is followed by his younger brother and the Chairman of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) having a net worth of US$42 billion.
India figures as the top sources of billionaires from Asia with 53 people in the current Forbes list which shows that with the economic boom, the rich Indians have been becoming richer and richer.
Forbes has put another Indian Kushal Pal Singh heads of India’s largest real-estate developer the DLF Group on the eighth position with a net worth of US$ 30 billion.
