Asia, Fri, 10 Oct 2008 IANS

Ipoh (Malaysia), Oct 10 (IANS) Retired teacher T. Poomani is looking for her younger brother who left home 20 years ago.

Poobalan, now 51, left home following a tiff with their father, Poomani told media here Thursday.

She believes her brother, an odd-job worker, is in Kuala Terengganu state, as she received a letter from the Terengganu Inland Revenue Board early this year stating that he had arrears of RM1,960 (about $560).

'All this while, I thought he was in Malacca state and had been writing to him at his last known address in Kampung Belimbing Dalam, Durian Tunggal, urging him to come home,' Poomani said as tears welled up in her eyes.

'It has been 20 years since I last saw and heard from him. I miss him very much,' she said adding that she had sought help of various parties to look for her brother but to no avail.

Poomani, a Malaysian Indian woman, said Poobalan was married with three children.
