Aligarh Muslim University to award Pakistani writer

Aligarh, Oct 10 (IANS) Aligarh Muslim University will confer the Sir Syed Ahmad Khan International Award 2008 for literature on Mohammed Zakir Ali Khan.

 

Mohammed Zakir Ali Khan, one of the founders of Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology of Pakistan, is an author of several books highlighting the sociocultural life of the university. He is the editor of Urdu monthly Tehzeeb.

 

 

This prestigious award will be given to him for his outstanding literary works and promotion of the vision and mission of Sir Syed through his engagements in the field of education, Aligarh Muslim University vice chancellor P.K. Abdul Azis said.

 

 

Born in 1926 at Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, Mohammed Zakir Ali Khan did his graduation in science and engineering in 1945 and 1948 respectively from the Aligarh Muslim University.
