Situation in Maharashtra's Dhule district under control, curfew still on
Dhule (Maharashtra), Oct 9 (ANI): The situation in Maharashtra's Dhule district is reported to be under control.
Curfew is still in place, after visit of State Chief Minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh and Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaishwal.
No fresh violence have been reported since the last 12 hours.
According to official sources, the death toll has risen to nine. Police has arrested more than 250 anti-social elements in connection with the incidents.
Clashes began on Sunday morning at Lal Kandil Chowk after people of two communities allegedly clashed when banners of a Hindu outfit were found damaged.
Police had to fire in the air and use tear-gas to control the mob. Additional forces have also been called in and the situation is still tense. (ANI)
