Mali President Toure in Delhi, thanks India for help in development

New Delhi, Jan 11 (ANI): Mali President Amadou Toumani Toure on Wednesday hailed India for its role in the development of his country.

 

Talking to reporters after receiving a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan here, Toure said: "Today we are here to thank India for, during the past five years, we have noticed that India is involved in several fields of development in Mali, and particularly also thank and salute the private sector of India because they have trusted Mali and the private sector of Mali."

 

"And they are involved in so many areas like industry, transport and culture. So this is really a mark of trust and confidence in our country. So we are glad to be here and we want to thank India for this," he added.

 

This is the first ever visit of President of Mali to India.resident Toure who is accompanied by a high level Ministerial and Business delegation will also hold talks with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. The discussions between the leaders will cover various bilateral as also regional and international issues of mutual interest.

 

The State Visit of President Toure is expected to provide an opportunity to further expand and consolidate the mutually beneficial relations. (ANI)
