Tom Hanks to start Internet series with Yahoo

London, Jan 10 (ANI): Tom Hanks is making a web series for Internet giant Yahoo.

The 55-year-old, who had spent years, developing Electric City, has finally decided to turn to Yahoo to stream the animated futuristic programme, which will premiere in the spring.

The Oscar winning actor is also lending his voice to a character in the show, about a peaceful city in a post-apocalyptic world.

"On the surface, the Electric City is utopia and under the surface, Electric City is secrets and heavy-handed state control," the Daily Express quoted Erin McPherson, head of original programming at Yahoo as saying.

"What we found really compelling is that this is perfect for a highly digital audience, a lean-forward audience who likes to utilise the medium of the internet," McPherson added. (ANI)
