Islamabad , Thu, 05 Jan 2012 ANI

Islamabad, Jan 5 (ANI): All the 15 Pakistan security personnel who were kidnapped by the Taliban from northwest Tank district in December 2011 have been killed, a Pakistan Taliban spokesperson has confirmed.

Taliban spokesperson Ihsanullah Ihsan said that they have killed 15 Frontier Corps personnel and their dead bodies have been dumped in a mountainous area in North Waziristan, which borders Afghanistan.

There is, however, no official confirmation of the report yet, Xinhua reports.

The statement comes in the wake of reports of peace talks between the Pakistan government and the Taliban, a claim confirmed by Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) 's Deputy Chief Maulvi Faqir but denied by Ihsan.

Ihsan also warned that the group would perpetrate more revenge attacks, and also avenge the security forces operation in Zhob district, Balochistan Province, which killed at least six militants.

The Taliban had kidnapped 15 security personnel on December 23 after attacking the Frontier Corps' " Mullazai Fort" in Tank district near South Waziristan tribal region.

They had demanded release of their militants in exchange for releasing the abducted personnel. (ANI)
