Moradabad, Jan 5 (ANI): Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan has slammed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi over his recent statement that by joining the Ganges (BJP) all impurities could be cleansed.
"Just like all the disposable waste being carried in gutters, dustbins, sewage drains are all treated in the sewer treatment plant but remain dirty for consumption purpose; If we assume Bharatiya Janata Party to be the sewage treatment plant still the water churned out would not be worth drinking and hence when such tall leaders of political outfits make such claims that any sort impurity would get cleansed by their association to their party then you can estimate the kind of faith people have for such outfits," Khan told the media here.
Khan was reacting over induction of sacked Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) minister Babu Singh Kushwaha over his alleged involvement in financial irregularity scam.
Earlier, Khan said that such instances had eroded the faith of the people in politics.
"A common problem with political parties today is the absence of ideology. They no more have any party principles, or any individual principles, only opportunism. People who have been called criminals, are a disgrace to society, are being welcomed by parties for the sake of political gains," he said.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday raided Kushwaha's residence for his alleged involvement in swindling funds allocated to the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), a Central Government's health scheme for the rural population.
The investigating agency also conducted raids at over 50 other locations in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi.
Kushwaha has been named as an accused with 50 others including government officials in FIRs registered against the NRHM officials and private companies. They have been charged with criminal misconduct and abuse of office. (ANI)
