New Delhi, Jan 5 (ANI): After facing surprise raids by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the financial irregularity scam, sacked Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Babu Singh Kushwaha has said that he is innocent and is ready to face any kind of unbiased probe.

"I am ready to face any type of investigation and I will prove myself innocent. I and my family along with Bharatiya Janata Party will fight against this injustice and atrocities," Kushwaha told the media here.

Kushwaha, however, demanded fair and unbiased investigation.

"I just want to appeal to CBI one sided investigation should not be done and unbiased investigation should be done so that its credibility remain maintained," he said.

Meanwhile, BJP leader, Vinay Katiyar questioned Congress and Bahujan Samaj Party by saying why these political parties are in shock of Kushwaha joining BJP.

"Yesterday also I said it that we are reeling-in Kushwaha in the party but CBI is investigating him. Today (Wednesday) also many of his residential places have been raided and I have came to know this from media only but I don't understand why CBI and state government got an electric shock over this that not even a single place was left out where police didn't raid. I want many other raids should be conducted at his place but I just want to know why his head is not being chased," said Katiyar.

Katiyar also said that BJP always raised its voice against corruption and will continue to fight against corruption and nepotism in public life.

"At the time of elections, Congress tried their best to include Kushwaha in their party but when it didn't happen, they saw it is going to be an important candidate for the BJP, by doing all these things are trying to create a bad atmosphere. Bharatiya Janata Party always raised its voice against corruption and will always raise its voice and if there is any evidence against him then they are free to investigate him but one sided investigation should not be conducted," said Katiyar.

The CBI on Wednesday raided Kushwaha's residence for his alleged involvement in swindling funds allocated to the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), a Central Government's health scheme for the rural population.

The investigating agency also conducted raids at over 50 other locations in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi.

Kushwaha has been named as an accused with 50 others including government officials in FIRs registered against the NRHM officials and private companies. They have been charged with criminal misconduct and abuse of office. (ANI)
