New Delhi , Wed, 04 Jan 2012 ANI

New Delhi, Jan 4 (ANI): Atleast five people died and nearly a dozen were injured when the roof of a building collapsed in Mundka in West Delhi on Wednesday.

Exact cause of the accident was still being investigated but it was believed that a cooking gas cylinder exploded when a group of labourers were cooking their morning meal on a gas stove attached to it.

Rekha, a relative of one of the victims, said about a dozen people were injured in the accident and they had been rushed to a nearby hospital.

"Suddenly, we heard a loud sound and our house fell down... 12 persons were trapped inside ... All were taken out and sent to the hospital," Rekha said.

She said the house belonged to her son Mukesh who was also seriously injured in the accident.

Police is searching the debris to investigate the exact cause of the accident. (ANI)
