Mumbai/New Delhi, Dec 27 (ANI): Veteran social activist Anna Hazare, who is presently on a three-day token fast at the MMRDA grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex of suburban Mumbai, could not pull people in large numbers to join him on the first day of his fast today.
According to certain media reports, around 4,000 to 4,500 people were only present at the MMRDA grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex to join Hazare in his crusade against corruption.
The attendance on the first day was quite contrast in comparison to the support that the veteran social activist had got during his protest in August at New Delhi.
Meanwhile, Senior Supreme Court lawyer and Team Anna member Prashant Bhushan also could not gather a large crowd at New Delhi.
It is reported that just a few hundred people were present to express their solidarity with Team Anna's fight for a strong and effective Lokpal Bill at New Delhi.
Team Anna has so far rejected the government's version of the Lokpal Bill in Parliament, and termed it to be weak. They have been pressurising the government to accept their demands including bringing the CBI under the ambit of the anti-corruption ombudsman. (ANI)
