Guwahati, Dec 26 (ANI): They are an upcoming band from Ramdia village in Assam's Kamrup district and are better known as Assam Bamboo Orchestra.

The band members have developed new music instruments made from bamboo after lot of research.

They began practicing several years ago and have mastered the indigenous tunes by using five different instruments including drums and flutes.

For band member Hiranya Das bamboo is not only for furniture and handicraft, it is equally important as a musical instrument.

"Bamboo is important not only for furniture and handicrafts but it is equally important for making musical instruments," said Hiranya.

The band has performed at several events in New Delhi and Guwahati and they last performed at the Guwahati International Music Fest where their performance was greatly appreciated.

"It is very good to be in the Bamboo Orchestra. We want to promote it. I am glad that through bamboo we are getting a chance to reach new heights," said Anupam Das another band member.

The ban, at present, is completely focused on promoting their music both within and outside the region. (ANI)
