Guwahati, Dec 21 (ANI): A social group organised cake festival in Guwahati, to mark Christmas festivities and help women to learn the art of baking and be self-dependent.
One of the organisers of the festival, Zebin, said the best part of this festival was that people from all the communities gathered and enjoyed the festival.
"Christmas is a kind of festival on which people from all the communities come to enjoy the festival. There is no difference of community or caste here, people from all the religions come here and spread happiness, especially children enjoy a lot. Christmas is a big festival not only for Christians but for people from all the communities," said Zebin.
Beautifully decorated Christmas trees were displayed at the festival to attract maximum public.
Varieties of cakes were put on display at the festival.
The dreams of many children came true when Santa Claus-dressed in his trademark red dress, with long, white beard arrived at the venue, spreading cheer among the children.
"The most great thing here, what is happening here is, like we can see so many people of different religions. There are Hindus, there are Muslims, there are Christians and belonging to other religions, so it is great to be with all the people belonging to different communities, different religions, that we are able to share with them the joy of Christmas and brotherhood. We shake hands with people belonging to different caste, communities, different religions. So, it is a really very great feeling for me," said Abhinash Narzary, a visitor.
An exuberant wave of cheer and festivities has gripped India ahead of Christmas, as people prepare for the festival with gusto and high spirits. (ANI)
