Cape Town, Dec.19 (ANI): Proteas batsman AB de Villiers says he has no regrets over not asking for a TV review when he was dismissed for 99 in the first Test against Sri Lanka at the SuperSport Park.
De Villiers was caught on 99 by Sri Lanka's replacement, Dimuth Karunaratne, off the bowling of Thisara Perera.
However, according to Sports24, TV replays showed that had De Villiers appealed the decision he might have been called back as the ball appeared to hit the ground before it was caught.
But De Villiers says, for him, Karunaratne's word was enough.
"Not really, I don't regret not reviewing it because he (Karunaratne) said he caught the ball - and I have always believed the fielder will know better than anybody else," De Villiers told the Rapport newspaper.
"Statistics are important, and obviously, I would have loved to get a hundred, but I should have hit that ball for four," he added.
"It was a poor shot and it's my own fault that I didn't get there (his century)," he said. (ANI)
