London, Oct 6 (DPA) England coach Fabio Capello again left striker Michael Owen on the sidelines, omitting him from his squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifying matches against Kazakhstan and Belarus.
The Newcastle United striker, who has scored 40 goals in 89 appearances for England, has not played for England since March.
He was left out of the most recent squads over concerns about his fitness after injury, but he has scored five goals in Newcastle's last six games.
Peter Crouch, another former Liverpool striker, was included in the squad Sunday , while Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips also made a return.
Chelsea forward Joe Cole was left out after picking up a foot injury Sunday, while Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson is also missing.
Liverpool's Steven Gerrard returns to the squad after injury, but David Bentley and Jimmy Bullard drop out.
England play Kazakhstan Saturday at Wembley before travelling to Belarus for their next match Wednesday.
