Muscat, Dec 5 (ANI): Two Chinese warships docked at Port Sultan Qaboos in Oman's capital Muscat to begin a five-day goodwill visit to the country.

The destroyer "Wuhan" and the frigate " Yulin," which were part of the ninth Chinese naval convoy, concluded its escort mission in the Gulf of Aden and waters off Somalia.

The Chinese warships stayed in Oman for replenishment during their escort mission, and were supported effectively by the country, the flotilla Commander Guan Jianguo said.

Jianguo said that he hoped the visit by the Chinese warships would enhance cooperation between both sides, Xinhua reports.

Chinese Ambassador to Oman, Wu Jiuhong, who attended a welcome ceremony of the flotilla, said the tour would further augment China- Oman ties, and portray China as a responsible nation. (ANI)
