Capello to leave England manager job after Euro 2012

London , Fri, 02 Dec 2011 ANI

London, Dec 2(ANI): England manager Fabio Capello has reiterated that he would quit after the team's Euro 2012 campaign in Poland and Ukraine.

Capello's six million pounds-a-year deal expires next year and the 65-year-old has already been linked with other jobs.

The Football Association's director of football development, Sir Trevor Brooking, has suggested that he could continue after a strong campaign, but Capello said: "This is it for me as England manager, but I hope that at the end of my career will be one trophy. I hope the players have got the mental strength to go and win a tournament."

The former AC Milan, Juventus, Roma and Real Madrid manager has been in charge of England since December 2007, succeeding Steve McClaren.

According to the Sun, Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is a firm favourite to replace Capello. (ANI)
