Ramadoss said, “Creative liberty should be used to improve society and not kill mankind.” Reportedly he asked the actor to learn how to use creative liberty from Aamir Khan citing his latest directorial venture Taare Zameen Par.
While praising Aamir he said that TZP has been able changed the perception of people against the dyslexia, and “That is what creative liberty should do,” he added.
“Creativity is about saving people and not killing them,” he emphasized.
Earlier in January the Union health Minister asked the superstars Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan to quit smoking in the film and public places. He also complained Shahrukh Khan who smoked during T20 match in Mumbai.
Reportedly Khan turned down his request saying smoking onscreen as a creative freedom.
Seemingly the Health Minister is concerned about the growing influence of celebrities on youngsters and hence stressed on checking these habits by the celebrities on screen and in public places.
Global Youth Tobacco Survey had put 10 per cent of Indian high school students using tobacco products. At this age many youngsters try to imitate their favourite actor and actresses.
The anti tobacco campaign and the people falling in the addiction are going in different way and has become a matter of concern. A concerted effort from all strata of people can help bringing the tobacco use in control.
The act of Shahrukh shows his ignorance of the awareness of the deadly trend of smoking.
