London, Oct 5 (IANS) Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp has begged English comedian and actor Matt Lucas for a role in the 'Little Britain' after loving the debut of the American series.

Depp is a fan of the character-based British comedy sketch show written by Lucas and David Walliams. An American version of the series, entitled 'Little Britain USA' was created as a spin-off that pulled in five million viewers Friday, reports mirror.co.uk.

The actors however, are filming Tim Burton's 'Alice In Wonderland' in Los Angeles and have struck up a firm friendship.

'Johnny was laying it on thick saying how much he enjoyed the first episode of the series. He said he would do anything to have a part in the movie,' said an insider.

Lucas plays Tweedledum and Tweedledee opposite Depp who essays the Mad Hatter's role in Burton's film
