Islamabad, Nov 27 (ANI): Maleeha Lodhi, the former Pakistani diplomat who served twice as Ambassador to the United States and has close ties to the Pakistani military, has said that the relationship between both the countries will be "much more slippery slope now" following the NATO attack on the Pakistani troops.
"The relationship is on a much more slippery slope now. This is as close as you can get to a rupture," The New York Times quoted Lodhi, as saying.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has ordered a review of all cooperation with the US and NATO after the alliance's attacks on a Pakistani army checkpoint, with reports saying that a committee headed by Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani has decided to 'close with immediate effect NATO/ISAF logistics supply'.
The meeting of the cabinet's defence committee chaired by Gilani also decided to cut supply lines to NATO in Afghanistan.
Gilani called the attack a "grave infringement of Pakistan's sovereignty".
The committee also decided that the government would "revisit and undertake a complete review of all programmes, activities and co-operative arrangements with US/Nato/Isaf, including diplomatic, political, military and intelligence".
It "decided to close with immediate effect Nato/Isaf logistics supply lines", according to a statement issued by Gilani's office.
Up to 28 soldiers were killed in the attack on Saturday.
Yesterday, the political administration of the Khyber Agency halted supplies to NATO forces in Afghanistan after being ordered by the Pakistan Government to do so following the aerial attack near the Pak-Afghan border. Hundreds of containers and oil tankers were halted at a check post in Tehsil Jamrood. (ANI)
