'Ex-stripper wife' claims 'sex obsessed' Saif al-Islam used to beat her after drug binge

Tripoli , Tue, 22 Nov 2011 ANI

Tripoli, Nov 22 (ANI): A woman, who describes herself as the ex-wife of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, has emerged with extraordinary stories of domestic violence and womanizing.

Nadia, from Ukraine claimed to have met the slain Libyan dictator's son as a stripper in Moscow.

She also claimed that Saif used to beat her and take drugs, and that she is currently in hiding, fearing for her life, the Daily Mail reports.

She said that as she prepared for marriage to Saif, she had to fly to Paris to have an operation to 'restore' her virginity. '

"The doctor proved my innocence in the presence of Saif's aunt. Then I embraced Islam," she told a Ukrainian newspaper.

"I tried to have a normal family, but Saif wanted to live as a single man with lovers and orgies,' she added.

Nadia, who is believed to be 29, claimed that her relationship with Saif ended after a furious row in a restaurant, which culminated with him beating her and throwing her out of a window, but she miraculously survived.

She claimed she was in a coma for 47 days, and that Muammar Gaddafi, who acknowledged her but never started a conversation with her, was outraged by his son's behaviour.

"About me being in hospital, he (Gaddafi) was in a fury. He kicked Saif away to the desert. It could spoil the reputation of the family that was already not so clean," the paper quoted her, as saying.

While there is no proof of her claim of having married and then being divorced by Saif after two years, Nadia's claim is being taken seriously in Russia and Ukraine.

According to the paper, if she is who she says, she could be a key witness at his trial whether it is in Libya or under the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court. (ANI)
