Mutatkar, Anand in Bitburger Open final

New Delhi, Oct 4 (IANS) India's Aditi Mutatkar Saturday upset local favourite Juliane Schenk while Chetan Anand beat Peter Mikkelsen of Denmark to reach the women's and men's singles finals respectively of the Bitburger Open badminton tournament at Saarbruecken in Germany.

The unseeded Pune girl knocked out the second seed 21-14, 21-16 in 32 minutes to reach her maiden international final while fourth seed Anand went past the Dane 21-14, 16-21, 21-13 in 40 minutes

Mutatkar will face the winner of the match between Ella Diehl of Russia and Maria Febe Kusumastuti of Indonesia in the finals.

Anand might run into compatriot Arvind Bhat, who faces Bjorn Joppien of Germany in the other semifinal.
