Digvijay calls Mayawati's administration a 'jungle rule'
New Delhi, Nov 17 (ANI): Calling Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati's administration a 'jungle rule', Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh today said that no action had been taken against those who breached the security of Rahul Gandhi, during his recent visit to the state.
"The point is that, all those people who broke the law, beat the police net and reached the helipad without any authority; no case has been registered against them. And all those, who captured them and stopped them from reaching to the helicopter, a case was filed against them, even a case has been filed against police personnel. This is Mayawati's jungle rule," Singh told the media here
The scuffle occurred when Samajwadi Party activists belonging to its youth-wing attempted to towards the helipad with black flags and raised slogans against Rahul Gandhi when his helicopter landed at the Phulpur ground.
Earlier, a case has been filled against Union Ministers of State Jitin Prasada and R P N Singh, Congress leader Pramod Tiwari and party MLA Naseeb Pathan at the Jhunsi police station of Allahabad.
The case was lodged on the basis of a complaint made by a student of Allahabad University, Abhishek Yadav, who said he was beaten up while trying to hand over a memorandum to Rahul Gandhi at the railway ground in Phulpur on Monday.
The case was registered under IPC Sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace). (ANI)
