Indo-Pak secretary-level talks on trade begins

New Delhi, Nov 14 (ANI): India and Pakistan is all set to hold two-day Commerce Secretary level talks, starting from today in New Delhi with a special focus on boosting trade between the two countries.
Commerce Secretary Zafar Mehmood is leading a Pakistani delegation to negotiate with Indian commerce officials on various issues trade related issues, including finding out ways to boost the bilateral trade between the two countries.
"The issues to be discussed in the meeting would include removal of non-tariff barriers, granting of Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to India and positive and negative lists for trade," the Daily Times quoted a commerce official, as saying.
The Indian delegation would be headed by the country's Secretary Commerce, Rahul Kullar.
The official said that both the countries were moving on a positive direction, because while on one side the cabinet of Pakistan has granted the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to India, the latter has also supported free access of Pakistani products to European Union markets.
"These moves show positive trends towards boosting trade relations," he said, adding that both the sides are extremely optimistic about the positive outcome of the meeting. (ANI)
