Hussey says Australia will target A B de Villiers

Cape Town (South Africa), Nov.8 (ANI): Michael Hussey says Australia will target AB de Villiers' suspect hand if the South African vice-captain plays in the first Test in Cape Town starting on Wednesday.

Star batsman De Villiers is firming to return to the team at Newlands after missing the T20 and ODI internationals against Australia while recuperating from a broken hand.

"He (de Villiers) is a very important player for their team but it will be a tough challenge for him as well," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Hussey, as saying.

He added: "Is the hand okay to start with? And he hasn't played a lot of cricket. It's very difficult to come back, one from a break, and two from an injury and play well straight away."

De Villiers didn't get much time in the middle in his return match, controversially given out for obstructing the field when on 12.

Hussey knows first hand how fast Mitchell Johnson, Peter Siddle, Ryan Harris and Pat Cummins are bowling in the nets and he said de Villiers could expect the Australian attack to test out his nerve and fragile hand.

"Without doubt ... That's what Test cricket is all about, trying to put doubt in the opposition's minds. We'll be trying to test all their batsmen really, and it's nice to have the personnel to be able to do it. All the guys, they're all pretty aggressive bowlers in their nature as it is," he said.
