Osian's ND Heroes, Punjab Police register identical wins in DDA football
Title favourites Osian's New Delhi Heroes and Punjab Police, Jalandhar blanked their respective opponents with an identical 3-0 margin to gain full points in the 4th Lt. Governor's Invitational DDA Football tournament played at the Ambedkar stadium here on Monday.
In a group 'B' match, ND Heroes drubbed Peerless Sports, Kolkata 3-0 to carry on their wining streak. The local outfit went ahead as early in the third minute through Amzad Hussain fine volley from inside the D.
Man of the match Baba Tunde doubled the lead in the 30th minute with a precision 25-yard shot that landed into the right corner of the goal post beating goalkeeper all ends up. Gyan Moyon belted the final nail in Peerless coffin through a neat placement to make the scoreline 3-0, five minutes before the final whistle.
In the day’s second match another local outfit, Ahbab FC, ended up on the losing side as they lost to Punjab Police 0-3. Punjab Police scored in the second minute to gain the fastest goal of the tournament through Harshdeep Singh, who slotted the ball after dodging past rival defence.
The other goals came in the 74th minute through Amandeep Singh Batra and in the 75th minute through Harpreet Singh. Harpreet picked up his second Man of the Match award for displaying some fine show in the match.
