Ayodhya, Oct 26 (ANI): Residents of Ayodhya celebrated the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman on Tuesday.

A large number of devotees gathered in the city prayed and chanted hymns in praise of Lord Hanuman with gaiety.

"At twelve in the midnight, Lord Hanuman was born, so the priests started with prayers at twelve in the night and now the devotees have gathered for offering prayers. After almost 2500 years, such a day has come when Hanuman Jayanti has fallen on the day of Tuesday," said Raju Das, a priest.

In Ramayana, Hanuman helps his master Lord Rama to kill the ten-headed king Ravana.
