Shillong, Oct 23 (ANI): Fifteen beautiful contestants walked down the ramp exuding confidence and oomph during the recently held Ms. Shillong 2011 contest.
The beauty pageant was a great crowd puller as hundreds of fashion enthusiasts from the state had gathered watch show.
The contest was organized under the theme "More than a woman". It was not only about beauty but also a search for personalities that can affect the society in the future.
"It was a good experience for me and I have learnt so many things and participating in this beauty pageant made me realize that I am more than a woman," said Monica Bhattacharya, a participant.
The event also served as a platform for upcoming fashion designers and models of the region.
The event was organised under the aegis of Fashion Society, Shillong, which has helped in opening up new avenues for a bright career for those interested in the fashion industry.odels and designers from the northeast who have made it to the glamour world and are doing well today have inspired the youth in the region as they also now look at fashion as a career option.(ANI)
