London, Oct.20 (ANI): A six-month-long driving ban has been imposed on Newcastle United FC star Danny Simpson.

Simpson's plea for mercy on the grounds of "exceptional hardship" on the personal front was rejected by the Newcastle magistrates court, the Sun reports.

Earlier, the Toon ace admitted doing 48mph in a 30mph zone in April, with nine penalty points already on his license.

But he said three-month-old Skye often needs to be rushed to hospital because of a bowel

He was given four points, meaning a six-month ban, suspended pending an appeal. (ANI)
