Zardari, Sharif-led parties 'looting Pakistan' by turns: Imran

Faisalabad, Sun, 09 Oct 2011 ANI

Faisalabad (Pakistan), Oct 9(ANI): Pakistan cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has accused the country's two major political parties of reaching an agreement to rule the nation by turns.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran made these comments at a gathering in Faisalabad.

He said the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-N have made agreed to rule the country by turns with the help of the 18th Amendment, as Nawaz Sharif wants a third prime ministerial term.

"He hasn't had enough," Imran said of Sharif, who has been the prime minister of the country twice.

The PTI chief declared that both parties take turns in "looting the nation" before handing the government over to the other party.

"Your turn will not come. It is now the turn of Pakistan's youth," The Express Tribune quoted Imran, as saying, referring to Sharif.

In an earlier statement, he had said Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari could never be trusted to keep a check on each other.

Corrupt politicians, he said, would strike a deal to get out. (ANI)
