Alappuzha (Kerala), Oct.7 (ANI): Feroz Ahmed, a marine biology scholar from Alappuzha in Kerala, has been an ardent collector of seashells.
In an innovative manner, he has put to good use his hobby, imparting knowledge among students about marine life and ecology.
For the past sixteen years, he has been collecting seashells and also visited almost all the beaches of India in search of various shells to add in his ever-increasing collection.
"I'm researching about marine biology. I'm collecting marine animals, seashells and a lot of other things from the sea to study. People visit my home to study marine life," said Ahmed.
He said his future plans included building a large museum in his hometown and to host exhibitions across India and abroad for both students and the general public.
Ahmed is eager to enlighten visitors about various aspects of seashells.
"We got more knowledge about the importance of mollusc, beneficial mollusc, advantages and disadvantages also. Some mollusc which are harmful and some are used in cosmetics. So, it's a good knowledge that we get from this," said Archana Unny, a zoology student. (ANI)
