London, Oct 5 (ANI): A new service has been launched in the market that offers texts and phone calls from a fake girlfriend to inspire jealousy in a girl they like or just to overcome the embarrassment of one's single status.
Fakegirlfriend.co allows its users to save its number in their phone contacts under a girl's name of their choice and sends a romantic text message, followed by a pre-recorded phone call on being instructed.
The messages vary each time, so that the service can be used on a number of occasions.
"Why don't you leave the boys and come hang out with me?" the Daily Mail quoted a pre-recorded message as saying.
"Please come hang out with me? Please? I really miss you," it said.
The phone calls, which are recordings of a girl's voice, are complete with pauses so that the user has the opportunity to reply to his imaginary love.
According to the Huffington post, although the potential for duping friends is limited, the service, founded by Ricky Robinett is free.
"I'm looking into expanding some options that monetize the service, but nothing is in place for that yet," Robinett added. (ANI)
