London, Sept 29 (ANI): English Premier League footballer Titus Bramble has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and possession of drugs.
Bramble, 30, was held over an alleged sex attack on a woman in the back of a taxi.
He was held by officers after the cab driver became concerned by the player's behaviour towards his fellow passenger.
Instead of driving Bramble home, the driver took the pair straight to a nearby police station and alerted officers, the Daily Mail reports.
According to the paper, police also discovered a white powder and arrested him on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug. Tests are continuing to determine what the substance is.
Bramble was, however, released later on police bail over the alleged attack in Yarm, North Yorkshire.
Bramble, who earns 40,000 pounds a week playing for Sunderland, is said to have travelled to Yarm on Tuesday evening for what is known locally as 'grab a granny night' before entering the Cross Keys nightclub. (ANI)
