R.R. Patil returns to Mumbai after going through security system in London

Mumbai, Sep 25 (ANI): Maharashtra Home Minister R.R. Patil returned to Mumbai on Sunday after studying the security systems in London.

 

"I and my associated ministers and other officers have gone through the kind of security arrangements made in London in all these three-four days of visit. They have made good security arrangements. They have tried to place all the modernised techniques in London as well as in United Kingdom," said Patil.

 

"There is a lot of difference in the situations of Mumbai and London. But then also have tried to put the all the modernised (sophisticated) technologies, which was necessary and we would let you (mediapersons) know what and when we are going to do in three-four days," he added.

 

He said that there was need to install CCTV cameras with an aim to increase vigilance in Mumbai and help them to effectively combat militancy.

 

Patil was accompanied with Minister of State for Home, Satej Patil, Additional Chief Secretary for Home, U C Sarangi, Mumbai Police Commissioner Arup Patnaik, Joint commissioner, V Agarwal and other officials during the visit.

 

"Scotland Yard Police has done a lot of progress related to security issues. They have brought new technologies and have installed video analytic and photo labs on a larger level and Mumbai needs installation of such sophisticated technologies in coming days," said Satej Patil.

 

Satej Patil further praising Scotland Yard Police said that they effectively worked in close coordination with the other departments.

 

Security was beefed in London after spate of suicide attacks had rocked it.

 

Triple blast had rocked the financial capital of the country on July 13 in which at least 27 people and many others were left injured. (ANI)
