Tehran, Sept 21 (ANI): Iran, the nation that has been conducting a large number of public executions for many years, has dismissed criticism against its 'inhuman' forms of punishments, saying it is an effective deterrent.
Iran recently hunged a man in one Tehran's main squares for killing a cardiologist he thought has caused his mother's death.
Also, a 17-year-old, convicted of stabbing to death Rouhollah Dadashi, twice champion in Iran's Strongest Men competition, will be executed soon.
According to the Scotsman, the two cases have caught the public's imagination in a country, which according to rights groups has the highest per capital death penalty rate in the world.
The report further said, Iran, in its latest 'judicial killing spree' hunged 22 people convicted of drug trafficking on Monday. (ANI)
